The mission of The United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ. The fundamental way we fulfill our mission is to reach out to people in the name of Jesus Christ, to relate people to God, to nurture and strengthen them in their journey of discipleship, and to send them into the world to be the church -- inviting and receiving others in the name of Jesus Christ. We call this the primary task of The United Methodist Church. The purpose of Woodlawn United Methodist Church is to provide opportunities for all individuals to be able to grow in knowledge and wisdom of God and His Son Jesus Christ, through faith by celebration of worship and Christian fellowship, service, education, and love for all people.
